Mt. Balingkilat (1,100+)

Focusing on positive or negative thoughts brings positive or negative experiences into life. This belief is based upon the idea that people and their thoughts are both made from "pure energy", and the belief that like energy attracts like energy.

Weeks after our Apayang Traverse Talamitam hike, I decided to join a hot weather day hike challenging oneself in building a new you - Trail Seekers Mount Balingkilat day hike.

People working at the same doing this out of door activities are those person with so much love to nature, yes some of them call nature but mostly call - Mother Nature.

Hiking/Mountaineering is fun and exciting making you realize about what life could offer, sometimes it makes love but most of all it breaks heart. (Ok STOP hugot, let's talk about mountains.) From the numbers of mountains you hike, rocks to boulders, river crossing to river trekking, minor to major and an hours to days of trekking.

The story about muscle aches, hot weather, picture perfect views, summit sleepover, trail running and water source hunting were bind as ONE for this climb.

The Assault

Picture taken after passing kawayanan.

Like other mountains of Luzon, Mount Balingkilat is grassy, rocky and windy. Literally called "Mountain of Thunder" that stands 1100+ MASL, this mountain features a scenic views of interconnecting trails and cove areas.

We started our trek quarter to five with an interval of fifteen minutes each waves. This hike was participated by 36 hikers from our group Trail Seeker (TS). The first part of the trail will passed by local houses before reaching the grassland (mas mataas pa sa tao mga talahib. haha) that will surely challenge every hiker on an on-and-off walk. After 1 1/2 trekking we reached kawayanan, the first and last water source to summit. *Okay take FIVE!

Continuing the trek, we ready for the sunny weather jumping/walking from rocks to boulders on a pure assault. Some hikers take their lunch and take a bit nap along the trail to re-energized for the last two to three hours of power walk to reach the peak.

Lasting Rewards

Water source hunting on the 1st half of our trail run

Positive Experience: A two hours and twenty minutes from Mount Balingkilat summit to JOP is one of my best trail run.

Negative Experience: Nothing

We attract whatever we desire or expect. If we desire one thing and expect another, we become like houses divided against themselves, which are quickly brought to desolation. Determine resolutely to expect only what you desire, then you will attract only what you wish for.
